There's not a thing wrong here. The hair is sleek, the makeup is fresh, the jewelry is just so and the dress is stylish and stunning. So why are we so bored by it?
Obviously it's an IN. There is literally nothing to criticize. It's just that, if you were doing costuming for a movie and there was a scene that revolved around a movie star character attending a movie premiere, this would be your go-to look. It's the quintessential "starlet at movie premiere 2010" look. Any female movie star ranging in age from 18 to 50 could wear this dress - and most of them probably have, or at least a variation of it. The princess look has become so ubiquitous on the red carpet that any minute now the starlets and stylists are going to take it to the next level and they'll all be showing up in tiaras with scepters. When they're asked "Who are you wearing?" they'll respond with an airy laugh and say, "What, this? My mouse and bird friends whipped this up for me at the last minute." Gay stylists will find themselves vying for jobs against talking woodland creatures. Mark our words. It's coming.
To reiterate: It's a beautiful look, really it is. It's just that it's so expected.
