Time to check in with everyone's favorite wildly inconsistent (from a fashion perspective) First Lady.

Some people criticized her for not wearing a Jason Wu dress to this event but that only proves that some people have too much time on their hands. We find it a little difficult to shed any tears for Mr. Wu as his DRESS IS ENTERED INTO A COLLECTION AT THE SMITHSONIAN FOR, CRYING OUT LOUD. Isn't that enough for one day? Anyway, we do love the dress she's wearing. We (and everyone else with any fashion sense) have been screaming for almost 2 years now that she needs to stick with simple sheaths because they flatter her so much. The downside to that is that it can get a little boring. Well, here's a simple sheath that's anything but boring. Love the print and the draping and the little detail around the hem. It saves it from being too simple. Hair and makeup both look great, but we would have advised her to wear a show with a little more "oomph" to it. And that picture with her mother (who is ROCKING it! Go First Grandma!) is super-cute.
